The Role

Camden Council is excited to be setting up a Shared Lives scheme and YOU could be the person to do it with us!

In Camden, we work in a strengths-based way, building on, and developing people’s abilities and independence, to reach their potential, whilst unlocking the strengths available to them in their local networks and communities.

We have ambitious plans over the next two to three years to develop and grow a scheme that will offer Shared Lives opportunities to people across Adult Social Care; and are looking for an experienced Shared Lives Manager to work with us to set up and manage the service, and be the Registered Manager for the scheme with CQC.

You will recruit people into the scheme who are looking for support and also Shared Lives Carers.  You will then lead the matching process between Carers and those people to be supported.  Initially the scheme will offer arrangements to adults with learning disabilities, and later will include people with enduring mental illness and older people.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in building a team of staff to increase and monitor arrangements, developing close relationships with all concerned, as well as liaising with other stakeholders. You will provide leadership, supervision and management to the staff team.

You will have an understanding of the needs of vulnerable people, their families and carers. You’ll be a confident networker, with great communication skills and the drive to make Shared Lives an outstanding service in Camden. Ideally, you’ll have operational knowledge of Shared Lives or a good understanding of the model.

For further details please contact: Amanda Jackson at amanda.jackson@camden.gov.uk

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
