Housing Inclusion Officers
The Housing Inclusion Service is looking for enthusiastic individuals who will bring the right skills and ethos to helping people threatened with homelessness. You may be an experienced Housing Officer, or a customer-focused individual looking for a new and rewarding challenge. As part of our Service, you will change many lives for the better by getting people into accommodation.
You will work to prevent homelessness through a number of schemes and projects as well as negotiate with landlords to sustain tenancies. You will be involved in investigative casework, home visits, partnership work, one-to-one interviews with applicants and front line duty work. Our Housing Inclusion Officers manage their own caseloads and are expected to demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to deliver the duties required by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
We are looking for individuals with plenty of empathy and some experience of either managing busy caseloads or the ability to interpret complex information and deal sensitively with a range of customers. Whatever your background, you will be skilled in dealing with complex customer situations that require teamwork, sensitivity and good communication.
We have permanent vacancies in the following teams:
- Single Peoples Team – we have 1 permanent full time vacancy in this team that works with single adults who are experiencing homelessness. Many of the team’s clients have a range of support needs and some have a history of rough sleeping.
- Mental Health Team – we are looking to recruit 1 permanent full time staff and a permanent part time staff in this team. The team works mainly with single adults who are experiencing homelessness with additional mental health needs.
- Families Team – we have 1 permanent full time vacancy. The team works with families with children who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
