The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake the role of Director – Transformation at Wigan Council. We have recently been awarded Council of the Year by the LGC and Large Organisation of the Year by Northern Power Women. We are seeking an inspiring individual to shape, influence and drive forward our Transformation agenda achieving the outcomes set out in the draft proposal of the Wigan Deal for 2030.

You will be responsible for the efficient and effective provision of six key service areas, with a strong focus around embracing culture and supporting heritage across the borough.

About you

You will be an engaging, strategic leader with a track record of driving change at a senior level within local government or a large complex organisation with significant resource reductions.

With a strong emphasis on influencing stakeholders, delivering results and inspiring others, you will work effectively in collaboration with a wide range of communities, partner agencies, private sector providers, public agencies, voluntary bodies and statutory authorities. Your ability to build partnerships at local, sub regional and regional level will be essential to the success of this role.
