Basis: 18 month contract

At South Holland District Council we recognise the value of our staff who add value to our organisation and to the services we deliver. Our employees enjoy excellent conditions of service including a generous pension scheme and flexible working for a large percentage of our staff. We are seeking to recruit a Project Manager to work with our services to deliver and exciting digital delivery plan. This will involve, amongst other things, improving our digital platforms and the way that Council services can be accessed online.
You are an advocate for making change happen, always looking for better ways to do things. You strive to produce work that is new and original, creating and combining things in novel and imaginative ways. You enjoy learning new things and coming up with new and different approaches and applications. You are driven to create things that will last, delivering a sustainable positive impact. You think ahead, to anticipate and prevent problems before they happen – but when it comes to solving problems, the more difficult the better!
People like dealing with you because you make things easy for them to understand and you focus on and listen to what they say. You always bring a different viewpoint, whatever the situation or context, and have the ability to form deep, long lasting relationships with people. Naturally focusing on the small things that others easily miss, ensuring that everything is accurate and error free, you also pay attention to the wider factors and the bigger picture that will inform the decisions you make. You are quite happy to take responsibility for your own decisions and accountabilities.
About the role
Working within the Council’s Digital Team you will work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders, internal technical and non-technical teams, key partners and third parties. You will take on the project management of our exciting 2 year digital roadmap, acting as the ‘go to’ person for all aspects from inception through to delivery. You will be comfortable operating at all levels, and in front of groups like project boards, committees and senior users. You will have solid experience of complex transformation projects gained over a number of years and delivered within large organisations, with excellent understanding of digital project management methodologies and in particular Agile. You will also possess good financial and budget management acumen.
Most importantly though we are looking for outstanding communication and negotiation skills and someone who can demonstrate clear leadership. An ability to manage, motivate and influence people is essential.
