Homelessness Prevention and Relief Officer
We now have a statutory duty to prevent homeless and to this here in Brent, we have built our own brand new I.T. system to make this process as efficient as possible.

Focused on achieving the prevention of the loss of a tenancy or license, this role will deliver the best possible outcomes for our residents at a much earlier point where a threat of homelessness exists. You will determine the available options and pathways for resolving threats of homelessness, manage service user expectations whilst working with them proactively to pursue their options. You will empower service users to resolve their own homelessness and possibly future homelessness by providing a comprehensive suite of advice, assistance and support.
You will work flexibly with households as we recognise that no two circumstances are exactly the same and the resolution pathway will constantly be adapted to each case.
You must be able to demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of Homelessness legislation and case law coupled with hands-on experience of preventing homelessness and making section 184 decisions.
A people focussed person, you will be passionate about good customer service and take pride in delivering an excellent service. You need to be able to work proactively, be highly motivated, ambitious and ready for a new challenge.
