About Us:

Lead the way in tackling problematic premises and supporting businesses to thrive within Food Safety and Health and Safety. It’s time to be bold. Working within the Public Protection & Licensing Department you will be responsible for playing a key role in delivering the new Effective Neighbourhood Working Programme; working in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver a more effective and efficient service to our community.

The Role:

As an Environmental Health Officer in Food Safety or Health and Safety, you will be responsible for devising and overseeing policy in order to maintain the high standards required. You will be carrying out inspections, whether planned or reacting to complaints from members of the public.

You will be able to take enforcement action where required, give evidence in court, and drive compliance across the City to help businesses deliver a high standard of premises and/or property.

About You:

It is not just your practical experience of your chosen field in Environmental Health; it is also your passion and enthusiasm for the difference you can make. Here, you will work closely with a wide range of professionals across many different disciplines to ensure premises and properties not only comply with their legal requirements but are also able to seek support to help them thrive.

Your responsibilities will be varied and interesting, with the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary area based team or a pan-Westminster team. In everything you do, your proactive approach, drive and flair for teamwork will shine through. You will be willing to learn and keep up your competencies. Professional development is a key commitment to our staff.

What We Offer:

If you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, right in the heart of iconic Westminster, a true ‘City for All’. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you.

As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen on working in an agile environment with flexible conditions or reduced working hours.
