The Post

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful team in providing a high quality; customer focussed front-line service facilitating housing grants to residents who are elderly, vulnerable or have disabilities. We are seeking to appoint a Housing Advisor to work across our grants programme and services.

This is a multi-disciplinary role within the Private Housing Services Grants Team, focussing on the provision of discretionary adaptation or repairs grants and mandatory disabled adaptation grants.

The post holder will be responsible for managing a caseload and be required to carry out visits to the homes of vulnerable residents to provide assistance with their grant application.  They will be responsible for verifying eligibility for the various grant schemes, the accurate completion of application forms, calculating grants and processing invoices for payment.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently using there own initiative in relation to interpretation and implementation of Housing Acts, other associated legislative powers as they relate to grant aid, providing information and advice on all aspects of our specialised schemes. They will also be working as part of a wider team and have a support function within the Grants Team.

Attention to detail and the ability to accurately record information is essential as well as the ability to communicate with customers, their representatives and our internal and external partners.
