Salary
circa £100k p.a.
Closing date

The Trust is an Alternative Delivery Model designed to deliver all statutory services for children’s social care and is an independent not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. We are specifically designed to ensure children and their families are at the heart of our work and have a clear remit to improve social care practice and outcomes for our most vulnerable children and families in Slough. Our recent positive Ofsted inspection has confirmed we are making good progress.

The support of children and families is key to all we do in Slough and we now need a new Director of Operations (Assistant Director functions) to continue our improvement journey, accelerate the pace of change, continue to strengthen frontline practice and take us to the next level. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will hold responsibility for all children’s social care functions across the spectrum of statutory services in the child’s journey, from referral and assessment and contextual safeguarding through to cared for and looked after children. The Director of Operations ensures clear strategic direction and development, clear management oversight, quality assurance and the delivery of consistently high-quality services and social care practice across the department.

Working as part of a strong and supportive strategic senior leadership team, you will have the role of championing the delivery of positive outcomes for children and their families. This role involves horizon scanning, including anticipating developments and innovation in social care.

As a qualified social worker, you will have significant experience of managing statutory social work delivery at a senior level in a local authority setting. You may be an experienced Head of Service who is looking for career progression to a broader role or an existing and ambitious Assistant Director who wants the freedom and flexibility offered by our Trust status.

We want to be an employer of choice in the region and a place where good social work can flourish.
