The Post

The ICT Shared Service is seeking to appoint a Senior Applications Technical Support Officer to complement an existing post in the Technical Applications Team. This team supports some of Brent Council’s major applications as part of the share IT services The post will entail working with officers of similar grades as well as a key role in providing technical support for a range of applications including Northgate Housing and Client Index support to staff across the council.

The Person

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who has experience in working in a busy customer focussed environment. This post holder will be instrumental in delivering a high quality technical applications support and ideally must have a good working knowledge in supporting technical issues within Northgate Housing Systems specifically in Estates, Repairs, Rents, Task Manager, Housing Allocations in configuration management of Northgate modules and related integrations as a lead for Northgate upgrades including UAT planning and support in having strong skills mainly in Oracle plus (essential), TSQL (essential), Unix (essential), and visual basic and extensive experience in Business Objects reporting and report writing skills in having experience and understanding of project management in working on a busy support helpdesk who can place customer service highly across the business in end user system training. 

The successful applicant must have good negotiation skills, prioritise calls and work on separate calls in parallel to meet Service Level Agreement targets and customer expectations. A key requirement of the successful applicant is that they can manage their own workload.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Council support shared service. There will be opportunities to influence how the service operates and suggest improvements whilst working as part of the whole team to form a high performing service.
