Job 6: 18.5 hours, temporary to March 2020 due to funding.

The Housing Solutions Service offers a comprehensive cross tenure housing options service to people in housing need, our main aim is to prevent or relieve homelessness, focussing on assisting people to find, keep, maintain and live independently in quality, affordable homes.  You will be responsible for liaising directly with customers to prove creative and innovative solutions to resolve customer’s housing needs and problems appropriately. 

You will establish and maintain a wide range of positive working relationships and will be able to demonstrate your excellent communication skills in particular skills in mediation and negotiation to achieve satisfactory outcomes. 

You will have:

  • The ability to empathise with vulnerable service users and establish good relationships whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
  • The ability to adopt a case work approach prioritising and managing own workload effectively.
  • The ability to use computerised systems and procedures to maintain accurate records.

You will be working within one of four existing teams within the Housing Solutions Service or as a new outreach worker under the rough sleeping initiative, the latter will sometimes mean working early mornings and some evenings, we envisage this averaging no more than 8 occasions per month.  

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this job.  A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
