This apprenticeship is for 24 months.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Procurement team at Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, as we continue to develop in our role as a strategic partner to the council in achieving its Vision 2030 ambitions.

The higher-level apprenticeship in Procurement offers you the opportunity to:

• Kick start your career in Procurement
• Secure a professional, diploma level qualification
• Learn all aspects of the strategic procurement function in a local authority context
• Develop commercial contract management skills
• Develop communication skills and gain experience in working with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders

As an ideal candidate you must be:

• Able to communicate at all levels through an approachable manner
• Be ambitious and confident with the ability to contribute fresh thinking and new ideas
• Be enthusiastic about learning

Essential Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 A-levels Grade C and above (ideally one in a finance related subject) or a level 3 qualification with 2 years’ work experience in a relevant field
• Minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade 4 (grade C) or above including Maths & English
