Based at Huddersfield Town Hall but the role involves regularly working across all four Kirklees Town Halls (Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Cleckheaton, Batley) and on occasion at other venues. 

An opportunity has arisen to contribute to the work of the Kirklees Town Halls team at a particularly exciting time for the service.  Operating within an increasingly commercial environment, we aim to maximise both the usage and income generating opportunities of all our Town Halls by providing a vibrant and varied events programme whilst delivering an affordable high quality service and working with partners to deliver key Council outcomes. 

This is a challenging but rewarding role which incorporates the following key outcomes:

  • Ensuring the delivery of a safe and efficient customer-focussed service

  • Supporting the management team by overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of the Town Halls

  • Supervising and directing casual front of house staff during events and performances

  • Dealing with complaints and queries quickly and professionally

  • Liaising effectively with hirers and performers

  • Actively assisting with the successful delivery of weddings, conferences and events

Your excellent communication skills will underpin and support this.  You will be a ‘self-starter’ with the ability to manage your own workload.  You will have the ability to work effectively on your own as well as part of a small and supportive team. 

You will focus on ‘getting the job done’ by adopting a flexible and ‘can do’ approach to operational challenges, problem-solving and competing priorities. Remaining calm and thoughtful under pressure, you will thrive in what can be a fast-moving, demanding and constantly changing work environment. 

A strong team player, you will appropriately support your colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for all our customers.
