Are you an enthusiastic, proactive and flexible individual with an understanding of local government and health and social care policy and legislation? If yes, the Project Officer role could be the opportunity for you.

This is a key role in the strategic planning and delivery of services for children and young people with special educational needs or disability (SEND) across the local authority and CCG.

As Project Officer, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring the delivery of SEND workstreams, providing a direct line of communication to senior leaders via the SEND Governance Group, support in the development of briefings and reports for elected members and stakeholders, and conduct analysis and research as required to inform the development of strategies, policies and business plans.

You will also work on wider projects to support the development of Children’s education, health and social care services as required.

You’ll need:

This is a high-profile, fast-paced and challenging role working with senior leaders across the Council, CCG and provider organisations. We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and flexible individual with an understanding of local government and health and social care policy and legislation.

You will have good interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and influence a wide range of people. With experience in project management or policy and strategy development you will be able to interpret, analyse and organise complex information and use this to inform transformation.

About us:

We offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance. These include home working, flexible hours, and a generous holiday allowance of 31 days, plus bank holidays. We also offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops, and other establishments.

We encourage staff to take up developmental opportunities and offer a corporate leadership and mentoring programme that is open to all staff.

Richmond and Wandsworth are currently reviewing our pay, reward and benefits framework, in partnership with Trade Union colleagues. We are developing different options that make sure we have a fair and transparent system in place.
