We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Practitioner to join the South Camden Recovery and Rehabilitation team, a multi-disciplinary mental health service for individuals experiencing psychosis. As Lead Practitioner you will be involved in providing supervision for staff members, advising on complex casework and leading on social care performance and practice.  The successful applicant will have extensive social care and mental health experience and ideally be a practising AMHP.  The successful applicant will have a keen interest in mental health and social work practice, promoting its importance by updating the service with new research, policy and guidance. 

The role will involve providing care coordination to a small number of service users with complex needs, providing support and guidance to colleagues on social work practice, developing and providing training, leading in key areas for example safeguarding, Care Act assessments or Mental Capacity and Court of Protection proceedings.  There will be an expectation for the Lead Practitioner to represent the team in other groups, such as, MARAC, MAPPA and High Risk Panel.  This means the post holder will have to travel offsite at times.

The successful candidate will have good knowledge and experience of mental health and social work practice, ability to mentor and facilitate training for staff.  It is essential that you demonstrate the ability to take responsibility for 

managing your own workload at a high standard and delivering to set deadlines, despite tight timescales and conflicting priorities. The post requires significant and broad experience of mental health and social work practice. You will have proven experience of working in a multi-agency environment. You will have leadership skills and the ability to influence others.

You will have experience of building and maintaining effective work relationships at all levels internally and externally to high service standards. You will have strong awareness and understanding of the complexities of operating in a multi-disciplinary setting and will able to focus on internal and external stakeholders, be innovative and creative, open to ideas and challenge, and committed to individual learning and development. You will also be proficient in using Microsoft Office Packages i.e. PowerPoint and Word, Intermediate Excel. Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
