We are looking for an exceptional individual who possesses the ability to inspire others to achieve and make a real difference to the lives of young people in Camden.

Camden’s’ Youth Offending Service is innovative and ambitious. We want to ensure that all young people succeed and have a range of original programmes to support them from the moment they enter the Youth Justice System until they leave. We are a forward thinking Service.  We use a trauma informed approach in our work, we engage the whole family, and we have staff based in custody suites so we can intervene from the very earliest opportunity.  We have recently launched our constructive resettlement approach and have psychologists working with our young people in and out of custody.

Camden’s Youth Offending Service requires a highly motivated and influential Service Manager to manage the Service, making appropriate use of resources to ensure the provision of a high quality, comprehensive and effective service to children, young people and their families. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring services are delivered in line with local and national standards, ensuring safe, effective and consistent delivery of high quality outcome-focused provision to young people in Camden.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you are an innovative and strategic thinker, with a proven record of delivering high quality services and interventions to very vulnerable young people, in partnership with a wide range of different agencies and organisations. It is also essential that you possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and polices in relation to young people services, such as safeguarding, risk management and the youth justice system. In addition you must be able to provide evidence of your ability to lead, motivate and manage multi-disciplinary staff teams in a range of work environments and contexts.  The successful candidate will hold considerable experience of case management oversight as well as an understanding of the concepts of Trauma informed practice, the Good Lives Model and Theories of Desistance.

Qualifications in any of the following professions:

  • Fully qualified, accredited social work professional status (CQSW, DipSW, CSS, HCPC registered)
  • Probation
  • Leadership/Management Qualification (e.g., ILM Level 4 or 5)
  • Other relevant qualifications alongside significant demonstrable experience within the Youth Justice Sector.
