The Post

The Brent Information Technology Team is seeking to appoint a Senior Application Support Officer to complement an existing post, within the Information Technology Support Unit. The post will entail working closely with the Senior Application Support Officer and other Application Support Officers in implementing the department's IT strategy and Development plans, as well as providing Northgate Revenue and Benefits and Council Tax database application support to staff across the Council. This is a real opportunity for the post holder to gain exposure to a wide range of Information Technology issues.

The applicant must have extensive Council Tax and Housing Benefit Administration experience in using Northgate Application. 

The Person

Your duties will include:

  • Contributing to the development and assisting in the implementation of the departmental Information Technology and Information Systems strategy.

  • Contributing to and assisting with the planning, installation and configuration of new releases of software; system testing and co-ordinating work with external software or service suppliers.

  • Monitoring the performance of applications, identifying problems and resolving then, producing statistics and other reports as required, and advising IT management of problems and potential improvements.

As well as being IT literate and having good project co-ordination skills, successful candidates will need to demonstrate confidence, the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and assimilate information quickly.
