The Council is seeking to recruit a Domestic Violence Improvement Officer will be enthusiastic, target driven with excellent project management and communication skills. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring improvement in responses to Domestic Abuse across the Council's Housing & Safer Communities department. The role will focus on early intervention working primarily towards prevention, protection and repair. The Officer will review current practices, implement and embed changes as well as best practice measures to improve frontline services and the customer experience.

The post holder will be a specialist practitioner in the provision of advice and support to people presenting for housing, council tenants and their families who have experienced Domestic Violence and Abuse (DVA). The Officer will develop a new approach to the engagement and support of individuals placed in temporary accommodation, who require support either to remain in their accommodation or to be moved safely to new accommodation, with a clear risk assessment and safety plan.

The Domestic Violence Improvement Officer will play a lead role in the achievement of Greenwich's Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) and Albert Kennedy accreditations and will be required to project-manage the process and engage with the wider partnership to ensure the accreditations are achieved before March 2020.
