Job Details

Tackling air pollution in the borough is one of the top priorities for Camden Council.

We are seeking a motivated Project Officer to join our Sustainability and Air Quality team and help design and deliver projects identified in Camden’s new Clean Air Action Plan.  You will have the opportunity to be part of Camden’s high-profile air quality work and make a real difference to the borough.

This role is instrumental to Camden’s work on improving air quality and will build on the success of our recent Mayor’s Air Quality Fund award to create a low emission neighbourhood in Camden Town. Working closely with the Senior Air Quality Officer you’ll ensure successful delivery of Clean Air Action Plan projects through cross working within the council, schools, businesses and the community. You will also create air quality related engagement initiatives to support project delivery including events and good quality communications content.

You will be required to work innovatively, supporting the development and implementation of other key elements of the borough-wide environmental sustainability plan covering strategy and policies.

To be considered for this post, you must have an awareness of air pollution and its causes in London. In addition, you will bring knowledge and understanding of communication and engagement approaches to environmental sustainability.

You will have a proven track record in project management. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information accurately and concisely to a wide range of stakeholders. You will have established multi-agency partnerships and worked closely with local communities. With the ability to work independently, you’ll manage conflicting priorities and meet frequently changing deadlines.

The successful candidate will ideally have a relevant degree or professional qualification.
