Are you a Social Work professional looking for your next challenge? Would you like to be part of an ‘outstanding’ children’s service that offers excellent provisions to the young people of North Yorkshire? We have a number of exciting opportunities to join a strong performing Looked After Children and Permanence team, covering the East of North Yorkshire, based in Scarborough.
The Looked After Children’s Team is responsible for the wellbeing and progress of looked after children and Permanence Care Planning for Children in the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale area, as well as some children placed outside of the county. You will be responsible for progressing plans for permanence where the child is not going to remain a looked after child e.g. adoption. The team undertakes the majority of care proceedings for the East of the county and uses a Signs of Safety approach to assess and manage risk to children.
Our team works hard to produce the best outcomes for looked after children and we are pleased to be offering these posts to dedicated Social Workers who are passionate about creating brighter futures for young people.
Joining us as a Social Worker, you can not only expect to be part of a highly-acclaimed organisation, but also to receive the following:
•Ongoing support from managers who will ensure that you receive the relevant guidance throughout your role
•Numerous professional development opportunities enabling you to both develop and progress your career
•Generous leave entitlement, allowing a healthy work/life balance
•Relocation package available, dependent upon eligibility
•Flexible working hours – we understand that everyone has different personal circumstances and priorities outside of work. We therefore try to accommodate these by offering flexible working hours to our employees
Whilst the post is based in Scarborough the service very much promotes flexible working with the ability to work remotely from other bases, as well as working from home.
The East coast benefits from excellent road and rail links including easy access from the A1, A19 and A64, making Teesside, York, Hull and Selby all easily commutable.
