The Post 

Associate Project Manager level 4 Apprenticeship working in the Direct Services, Adult Social Care team. Direct Services is in the process of expanding the range and improving the services we offer. To enable this to happen we will need a number of projects to be created to ensure that these new opportunities are delivered. They range from improving our communication with families, the local community and Brent, to developing and expanding the Café space at New Millennium Day Centre.

Key functionalities

The Project Manager will work closely with the Management Team to deliver this expanding programme. They will therefore need to be able to communicate with individuals and groups through a variety of mediums including web-based solutions. They will need to be able to support people though change whilst maintaining a very clear vision of where the service is going.

Therefore, creativity, empathy, communication skills, with good personal organisational skills are needed for this post.

Whilst most of the work will be based from New Millennium Day Centre, they will also at times have to work from the other centres as well as attend meetings at the Civic Centre. NMDC does however have good connections with public transport.

Simultaneously undertaking a comprehensive study programme towards the Level 3 apprenticeship. You will gain valuable knowledge and skills which will be an asset to the council and your career. Our apprenticeship scheme offers significant assistance with training and provides the opportunity to improve skills for future career opportunities.

Please note there is an end point assessment at the end of this apprenticeship, which is carried out by an external assessor and will include: A knowledge test, a Portfolio based interview and a Project presentation.

The Person 

Keen to learn, you will demonstrate good communication skills, an understanding of good customer service, team work and an interest in developing a career in business administration.

You will also need to show your interest in local government and the delivery of public services. We will also be looking for a flexible and positive approach to work.

Qualifications 

Typically candidates will have achieved a grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics, and could hold a minimum of 48 UCAS points, or equivalent.

Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is desirable.
