We are looking for an extremely organised Annual Review Officer with high levels of attention to detail to join the multi-faceted SEN Team here at Camden. The main objective for the post holders are to understand, synthesise and amend reports into a document which can be easily understood an implemented by professionals who will be supporting the young person. You will support the implementation of the Children and Families Act (2014), to ensure top quality Education, Health & Care plans for children and young people with special educational needs. This will include executing the corporate decisions of Camden Council in its execution of its statutory Special Educational Needs (SEN) responsibilities in accordance with the Education Act of 1996 and in line with the SEN Code of Practice (2015) and the Children and Families Act (2014).

The ideal candidates will support the SEN Team achieve its statutory duties by meeting tight deadlines and fulfilling your role by liaising with schools, early year’s settings and FE colleges to ensure the continuum of a young person’s special educational needs are being met and is reviewed annually.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be considered for one of these posts you must be an effective communicator who possesses the ability to interact with people all levels including parents, carers, Head Teachers, SENCos, Health and Social Care Practitioners and others as required.  The successful candidates will work across the team, supporting the Assessment Case Coordinators, thereby developing both a general knowledge and skill set in relation to SEND and the curriculum of children and young people aged 0-25. These include but are not limited to pre-school, nursery, primary, secondary and FE. You will work under the direction of the Senior SEN Officer in collaboration with colleagues and professionals from Education, Health & Care.
