Senior Information Governance Officer
Do you want the opportunity to develop your career in a progressive and ambitious professional shared service company?
Veritau, owned by North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council, provides a professional service to a number of councils, housing associations, schools and other public sector clients across the county. We employ over 50 people across the group serving six member councils and over 400 clients.
We have built an excellent reputation for providing high quality and cost effective services. An award winning organisation, we are previous winners of the Cliff Nicholson award for Excellence in Public Service Audit by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) and our information governance team was recently nominated for 'Team of the Year' in the IRMS Awards.
Our mission is to deliver efficient, effective and professional assurance services which are responsive to the needs of our customers and which are held in high esteem. We are currently looking for a Senior Information Governance Officer to join our team and help us to achieve this ambition.
As Senior Information Governance Officer you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of data protection services to a number of our public sector clients. This will include the development of action plans and policies, the supervision of staff and the provision of training and specialist advice. In addition, you will be key to achieving our ambitious plans to expand the delivery of services to new sectors and clients.
To be successful you will need to develop good working relationships with clients. The ability to identify solutions and be willing to question and challenge established practices will be essential. You should hold relevant qualifications or have extensive experience in data protection and information governance and have an in-depth knowledge of data protection and related legislation, and its application within the public sector.
In return, as an Investor in People, we continually invest in the training and development of our staff and also offer a generous benefits package including membership of a company pension scheme, performance related pay, generous leave entitlement and flexible working arrangements.
The post will be based at our Northallerton office and will involve some travel. We are privileged to work in some of the most beautiful locations and have offices in both York and Northallerton, with satellite offices in Malton, Selby and Richmond, allowing employees to work flexibly in terms of office location on occasions.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our information governance services.
Are you ready for the challenge? If so we look forward to hearing from you.
