Temporary up to 11 months to cover the absence of the substantive post holder

You will provide support to a Social Worker who is blind to enable them to carry out their duties efficiently, effectively and safely.  Including accompanying them to visits and meetings with service users where there may be issues to deal with which are sensitive.

You will have experience of working in an administrative setting and have the ability to use a variety of software packages, in particular Microsoft Office.  It is essential that you have the ability to put visual information into words and be able to understand and explain non-verbal communications e.g. body language.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car.

An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure will be required for this job.  A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
