Schools ICT are a well-established, professional traded service of North Yorkshire County Council, with a solid reputation for delivering high-quality ICT support and development services to schools, academies and a growing number of commercial customers. 

Due to expansion within our division, we are seeking a School Network Manager to join our existing team. Your contribution will be instrumental in providing a specialised, fully managed IT support service to Ackworth School. 

Ackworth School is a vibrant, dynamic and forward-thinking day school and the oldest independent co-educational boarding school in the UK with over 480 pupils on roll. The school was founded in 1779 by the Society of Friends (Quakers) and they are proud of their traditions, family values and innovative approach to co-education. 

Based in the village of Ackworth, a few miles from the historic market town on Pontefract in West Yorkshire, the role specifically focuses on the day-to-day management and support of the school’s ICT systems and network. Supported by our wider team and under the direction of a Principal Support Officer, the post holder will play a key role in assisting the development of ICT across the school. 

To succeed, you will have significant experience of managing and supporting Microsoft Client/Server LANs, internet connectivity and security, network printing and classroom presentation devices. Experience of supporting iPads in an educational setting would be advantageous but not essential. On occasions, you may be required to travel to the Schools ICT Headquarters in Northallerton or other locations across North Yorkshire.
