Plus a generous Local Government Pension Scheme, employee benefits and up to 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

East Lindsey District Council are entering an exciting period of change, with a new focus on becoming an agile, innovative and commercial organisation underpinned by a healthy, people-centred, collaborative culture.  We are excited to work in response to the changing landscape of local government, shaping our organisation (and our district) through digitalisation, modernisation and sustainability to drive forward and achieve our ambitions around economic growth, supporting the most vulnerable in our communities and ensuring we provide good quality, core services.

East Lindsey is a polycentric district with settlements widely distributed across its geography. The economy in the district is divided between the coast and rural inland areas, which include high profile seaside resorts and traditional market towns.

An exciting opportunity has become available to assist the Council with the delivery of its housing advice and homelessness duties.

To enable delivery of an integrated housing and homelessness prevention service, the Council is currently in the process of bringing the housing register service back in house and to support effective delivery of this, procuring an integrated IT system. The new service model will be operational from October 2019.

You will assist with the day to day running of the housing register including assessing applications and shortlisting applicants. You will be part of a small team who are the first point of contact for general housing advice and homelessness queries, including giving tenancy related advice in order to prevent homelessness. You will be required to identify applicants who may require additional advice and support and signpost or refer to the appropriate agencies. You will also be providing advice to housing register applicants about the application process, bidding for properties and options to overcome any current housing related issues.

We are looking for someone preferably with experience in a housing advice or similar advisory role who is able to demonstrate a passion to help our applicants, has excellent people skills and can work on their own and as part of a small team.

We are also looking for someone who shares our vision for wider collaboration and partnership working to achieve the best outcomes for our customers.

If you believe you have the skills, knowledge and experience to effectively deliver this role, then we are excited to hear from you!

Please see the attached job description and person specification at the bottom of this page, for further information about this opportunity.
