Job Details

Aspire Academy Bexley, Endeavour Academy Bexley and Horizons Academy Bexley are all part of the New Horizons Hub which provides a continuum of education, and support and guidance for pupils in Bexley and beyond whose needs are not best met in a mainstream school.  We work closely with local stakeholders including primary and secondary schools in Bexley and the Local Authority as well as a wide range of support agencies to ensure that we can deliver the best education, interventions and opportunities for our pupils.  Our offer is not only in our schools but beyond them in supporting pupils at risk of exclusion in the local community.  Our aspirations are high for all of our children and young people and we believe in inclusion in the widest sense.  Our ethos is of engagement and positive participation, a message we communicate to pupils, our staff and our stakeholders. For further information about the school please visit the school website: www.endeavourbexley.org.uk

We are seeking an experienced practitioner to take up the post of a Behaviour Learning Mentor delivering high quality programmes to our learners.  You may be already working as a TA or keen to progress into the role. The candidate will have experience of supporting learners to re-engage in their learning and will support curriculum staff in achieving good academic outcomes.  Experience of supporting students with literacy skills is essential and applicants are sought with a background in teaching or specific literacy support.  You would be joining a skilled team of teaching and support staff in providing high quality learning for our students.    This is an opportunity for an experienced and skilled practitioner to make a real difference to children’s lives.  A proven background in managing challenging behaviour alongside evidence of securing successful academic outcomes is essential requirements.

If you have enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to work with some of the most vulnerable and complex young people in our community, we would welcome your application.  High aspirations and a relentless approach towards excellence are the key skills we are looking for along with evidence of previous outstanding classroom teaching.  A willingness to be involved in developing extra-curricular activities and the wider curriculum would be an advantage.
