Job Details

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated communications professional to join our growing Communications and Digital team.

You could be a press officer who wants to do more campaigns, or maybe you’re great at social media and want to do more PR. You could even be an internal comms expert who wants to branch out. Regardless of your background, we need someone who can create engaging content for a range of publications and websites, and manage the council’s reputation through the press and social media.

Our ambitions to address the needs of our increasing population and higher demands for services are set against a challenging backdrop of financial constraints. Effective communication is central to helping us provide first-class local services. We’re now one of the most followed London councils on social media, but it’s not just about chasing likes – it’s about making sure our messages will reach the right people.

We offer a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high profile organisation. From the historic Greenwich town centre in the west, along 8.5 miles of waterfront to Thamesmead in the east, the future for the borough is very positive. The opening of Crossrail and a new riverfront creative district will bring more visitors and jobs to Woolwich, which is where we’re based.

If you’re ready to be part of our exciting journey, please apply now, or contact us to discuss the job.

Closing date 31 July
