Our HR Shared Service Team (HRSST) currently have a great opportunity to join them as a Senior HR Adviser (casework) on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2021.

HRSST provides an HR enquiry service via phone and email and HR casework support to all of the four directorates within North Yorkshire County Council and a small but increasing number of external customers. Providing advice and guidance to managers we help develop their skills, knowledge and confidence in managing their staffing issues.  We’re a small, busy team based at County Hall in Northallerton with technology and IT kit that allows us to work from alternative locations including home working when required.  

As Senior HR Adviser you will have the opportunity to draw on your in-depth knowledge of employment legislation and practical case management experience to enable you to take a risk-based approach to providing advice and guidance to managers and your small team of HR Advisers. You will also have your own caseload of more complex and sensitive cases. 

The successful applicant will need to be able to work effectively with Directorate Heads of HR, HR Business Partners and managers, taking approaches that are consistent with the Council’s Corporate Workforce Strategy. You’ll also contribute to policy development as part of a wider HR Portfolio Group.
