This is an exciting time to join Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and an opportunity to make a real difference.  We are looking for an outstanding Assistant Director who will bring a track record of delivering and transforming a range  of social care services and who will help us build on the impressive progress made in recent years which has seen us attain  a ‘good’ Ofsted rating.

Our new AD will manage a number of key services, contributing to the strategic direction, impact and overall performance of the Children and Young People’s Services whilst providing strategic advice within statutory frameworks.  You will initiate and oversee the implementation of major change programmes and also drive forward excellence across a broad range of vital services such as Looked after Children, First Response, Localities, Disabilities and Safeguarding services. Under your leadership, your teams will help deliver effective relationships with external stakeholders, partners and agencies, representing and promoting the Council’s interests with these groups.

With a thorough working knowledge of children’s social care best practice, you will have successfully controlled large budgets and be able to actively demonstrate delivery of high performing, efficient services.

You will know how to apply risk management while setting strategies, and have a thorough understanding of the legislation, issues and agendas facing local government and children’s services.

So, if you want to work in an innovative, honest and straight-forward culture, managing change to improve outcomes for the people of Rotherham,  we would love to hear from you.
