Heading up the Legal, Procurement and Democratic Services teams as well as fulfilling the role of Monitoring Officer, you will be at the forefront of leading cultural change and developing excellent relationships with senior officers and Members.

Coming from a Local Authority or politically-sensitive background in which you lead a legal function, and ideally with Monitoring Officer or Deputy Monitoring Officer experience, you will work with our Leadership and Cabinet. You will be expected to advise and challenge as appropriate, on complex corporate and strategic issues.

A natural leader, you will inspire the team to achieve great results and have the resilience and risk management awareness to get the job done. Your approach and style will be forward looking, innovative and responsive. As a qualified Solicitor or Barrister, with an excellent track record of building relationships and providing strategic legal insight and advice, you will be confident in working across the council, with all of our councillors and external stakeholders.
