Trafford is a thriving, diverse, prosperous and culturally vibrant borough sitting at the heart of Greater Manchester. We have bold ambitions about the type of council we want to be, and we are committed to responding positively to the changing needs and expectations of our customers and partners. Our colleagues will play a key role in our vision and therefore our values are very important to us.

In Trafford we have great schools and academies, as well as a growing, dynamic economy. However, we want to make Trafford an even better borough, one in which every single person has the opportunity to succeed and where everybody has a voice. For us, this starts with our children and young people.

Following our recent Ofsted inspection, a number of key issues were highlighted, and we have already made a great start in making positive changes in our Children’s Services. We are now looking for an exceptional and inspirational Corporate Director of Children’s Services, someone who through inclusive and collaborative leadership will help us get to ‘good’ and then ‘outstanding’. You will have the full support of colleagues, councillors and partners, working in an empowering culture that is focussed on positive outcomes for our children and young people.

We want to hear from candidates with a strong track record of success in Children’s Services, someone who is truly passionate about improving the life chances of children and who can translate the challenges facing children’s services and SEND into an outcomes based plan that drives the delivery of exceptional services to the children and young people of Trafford.

If this sounds like you, we want you to join us and be part of our exciting journey to excellence.
