Are you a Social Worker seeking a new challenge? Would you like an opportunity to work in a specialist team? We are currently seeking a full time Social Worker to join this specialist service, based in Selby and welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced Social workers interested in working with disabled children and their families.

This service has recently undergone a restructure and it has been agreed that from 1st October 2019 the service will revert to providing assessments and support services to disabled children and young people aged 0-18 years, and their families.

You will work as part of a busy but supportive team, dedicated to making a difference to the lives of disabled children and their families. You will hold and manage a caseload of children and young people aged between 0-18 years as allocated by the Locality Team Leader. Your role will be working in partnership with colleagues, parents and other professionals to ensure children and young people have opportunities to access community activities and short breaks to develop as much independence as possible and ultimately lead to making a successful transition to adulthood. You will assess, provide, co-ordinate, and review support arrangements locally for children and young people with significant disabilities or health conditions. There will be a requirement to manage Safeguarding and Looked After Children casework, dependent on knowledge and previous experience.

If you have a social work qualification and experience of working with children and young people, we look forward to hearing from you. For further information and an informal discussion please contact Suzanne Hunt / Ian Collins on 01609 534670.
