You will provide effective programme management of the Council’s HS2 and Euston Programmes, leading and coordinating activities on behalf of internal and external governance groups. You will be able to contribute to intelligence gathering and analysis and you will be able to lead programme monitoring, reporting and risk analysis. You will also ensure that all associated projects are aligned with the overarching objectives of the HS2 and Euston Programmes.

The right individual will be able to clearly demonstrate skills, knowledge and the experience set out in the job profile. You will have keen political awareness and will have experience of working with publicly elected representatives or equivalent roles. You will also have experience in organising, managing and coordinating cross-service projects that lead to successful outcomes.

The role will be expected to embrace the ethos of a self-managed team, where resources are used flexibly to deliver agreed priority areas of work. They will define priorities, set objectives and manage the workload. The post holder will agree resources with the HS2 and Euston Programme Leads and may be asked to deputise for them on occasion.

HS2 is a key priority for Camden Council due to the unprecedented and significant impacts on the Borough. As construction ramps up, we are moving into a new phase of work and it is imperative that our Camden 2025 vision is upheld in areas affected by HS2, despite the negative and counter-productive effects of construction.

We are looking for an experienced programme management professional who has sound programme and/or project management experience, experience of working across multiple partners and stakeholders, experience of uniting tangential projects under a common goal, an understanding of how to navigate and coordinate complicated governance structures and good analytical and influencing skills.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, including report writing, and will be able to communicate confidently and strategically with a wide range of external stakeholders (community groups, HS2, Department for Transport, Network Rail etc) and internal stakeholders (elected members, senior leaders etc).
