We have important goals of increasing economic prosperity and sustainability over the next decade, delivering £1 Billion of works to improve transport routes to access jobs, as well as providing faster journeys, decongestion and improved air quality. Your role as Senior Technical Officer will be important in ensuring that our Highways Teams are able to keep making these improvements.

Your key responsibilities and duties within the role of Senior Technical Officer will consist of:

  • Assisting engineers in analysis of casualty data to develop education/publicity packages in the aim of achieving the West Yorkshire 2026 casualty reduction targets
  • Managing our School Crossing Patrols and Road Safety Trainers, ensuring they are appropriately trained within a time-driven environment whilst also being responsible for the support officers in your team
  • Developing and implementing Traffic Regulation Orders using the correct IT software and data, to compliment concerns raised around parking, access issues, congestion and school initiatives

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant HNC or Degree, or proven ability to work at that level
  • Ability to identify the level of resources required for work (e.g. information and surveys)
  • The skills to maintain, operate and monitor electronic, digital and manual records management information systems
  • Great communication skills and  experience of presenting information in formats suitable for a variety of audiences
