About Unity Academy Trust

Unity is a small and relatively new multi-academy trust, currently consisting of Gravel Hill and Upland Primary schools in Bexleyheath.  Both schools share similar visions and values, and are immensely proud of their children’s achievements.  At Unity we believe that our staff are our greatest asset, so we work hard to ensure our whole team benefits from excellent support and ongoing quality CPD. We are going through a period of exciting change over the next year, and as part of this reorganisation we are looking to develop our central team.

Your Opportunity

We are looking to appoint an extremely capable and hardworking part-time Trust Administrator who can also take on the role of Data Protection Officer for our Trust (after training).  Initially this will be a role offering just 7.5 hours a week, although this is very likely to double in the next year, and may increase further in the future, in line with trust growth.  This position carries considerable responsibility for ensuring that we maintain high standards of data protection across our schools, manage all of our policies effectively, and provide a good level of admin support for our governors, trustees and members.

The successful candidate will:

  • have considerable administrative experience at a senior level
  • demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • be extremely well organised and self-motivated, able to prioritise and multi-task effectively
  • have strong IT skills and a commitment to CPD

A job description and person specification for this role are attached.  If you wish to discuss the post further or would like to visit one of our schools, please contact Jenny Grant, Trust Business Manager, by email jennygrant@unityacademytrust.co.uk

Your Application

To apply for this vacancy please complete the application form, available to download from the downloads section below, paying particular attention to Section 4 of the form, to indicate how you satisfy the criteria set out in the Person Specification. Once you have completed it, the form should be submitted via email to jennygrant@unityacademytrust.co.uk; please state ‘Trust Admin’ and your name in the subject line.

The closing date for applications is Monday 9th September, with interviews on Friday 20th September.

References will be requested for those shortlisted only and prior to interview.

Only those shortlisted for interview will be contacted.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks.

The school is committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.
