Job Details
The Community Safety Services is located within the Communities and Leisure Department. They have a responsibility of providing a multi agency approach to reduce crime and disorder, including domestic abuse across Bexley Borough and coordinating the Community Safety Strategy and Domestic Abuse Strategy.
We currently have a vacancy for a Domestic Abuse & MARAC Officer within the domestic abuse team. The MARAC (multi agency risk assessment conference) is a process by working in partnership with internal departments and partner agencies by providing a response to domestic abuse victims who have been deemed at high risk of harm. This post will coordinate the MARAC and support the work of the Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence Strategy Manager. The functions of the role will include:
• Provide high quality support, coordination and training to develop the MARAC
• Provide a single point of contact for professionals in relation to the MARAC and domestic abuse
• Work closely with partner agencies to ensure all relevant members of staff are familiar with MARAC process and their role and responsibilities within it
You will need to have experience of coordinating multi agency work and a knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and relevant legislation.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
An Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required
