Are you passionate about inspiring learning through museum collections and their stories? Are you looking for a new challenge?
At Chelmsford Museum we have recently completed a major GBP 2.2 million redevelopment project that has completely transformed the Museum, our visitors experience and opportunities to work with our community. Joining the Curatorial and Learning Team at this time you will be actively involved in developing and delivering the Museum's engagement, learning, and outreach programmes which appeal to all audiences.
You will have experience leading learning and engagement sessions and confident using objects and their stories to create memorable and meaningful learning experiences, working with a wide range of Museum users. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to maintain the high-quality delivery of our history and science based sessions for schools.
The post holder will be highly organised with good administration skills and a flexible approach to work. They will be a team player, sharing knowledge and ideas and contributing directly to the development and delivery of innovative and creative formal and informal learning activities designed to increase accessibility and engagement for all visitors and income generation.
The successful candidate will have achieved a high standard of secondary education and will have experience in both administration and delivery of learning activities.
This is an interesting and varied role for an individual who is passionate about using museum collections and their stories to inspire curiosity, imagination and learning and is committed to working with diverse audiences to ensure Chelmsford Museum is at the heart of our community.
The role is for 16 hours per week. Working Fridays and one other day of the week depending on work demands; flexibility is key for the role.
