Executive Director Economic Growth and Commercial Development
You will be joining an executive team that is resetting itself, a team that is re-calibrating the organisation and its culture for the future. You will be someone who celebrates creativity and innovation, who can embrace the excitement within the organisation and breathe life into the Council’s growth and development objectives.
The last few years have seen a number of personnel changes within the council and this presents an amazing opportunity for someone that wants to be part of a newly shaped team. You will work with a newly elected administration to deliver the Council’s growth and commercial objectives.
What makes this opportunity different is the ambition to attract someone who can lead the Council forward. This role is a cornerstone in the Council’s objectives for the next four years and will shape the strategies that define the council’s identity and its approach to commercial development.
This is an exciting and wide ranging role where you will be responsible for regeneration, commercial development, planning, property management, leisure, and museums. As a key member of the leadership team, you will demonstrate and uphold the Council’s values, contribute to shaping the Council’s culture and work corporately with colleagues.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of working in a rural and urban setting to deliver economic growth and development strategies. They will have strong people skills and a collaborative style. They will have the ability to work with and promote positive relationships across a wide range of important stakeholders regionally and nationally.
For the right person, this role will not only define the council’s longer term success but prove to be career defining for the individual and enable them to quickly point to a list of significant achievements.
