Please note this role will require you to travel between Brentwood and Harlow, as and when needed, therefore a driving license is desirable.

Adult Community Learning (ACL) is ECC's provider of lifelong learning experiences for Essex residents, offering qualifications to help people move nearer to, enter or progress within the workplace, or gain skills to enhance life chances.
The service focuses many of its programmes and activities on the hardest to reach communities within Essex and learners have access to a diverse range of non-accredited courses which encourage creativity, healthy lifestyles, social inclusion and engagement.

The Centre Lead for Brentwood and Harlow will be at the heart of the ACL colleges and will be integral to ensuring our learners have the best possible learning experience.

The role will be responsible for coordinating resources, to ensure centres provide adequate cover, whilst delivering exemplar customer service and front of house duties, including enrolments and registrations. You will also be responsible for the centre's health and safety and other compliance requirements as well as managing data and translating this into management information.

This role is varied, fast paced and ideal for those who enjoy working with people and want to be part of a team that improve people's lives

Educated to Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent, you should have a Good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook, with the ability to contribute to the development and use of new systems, and accurately review data, and amend and produce management information.


You will have experience of working in a customer-focussed environment, with excellent communication skills to ensure engagement with adults to provide information and guidance, with the ability to encourage participation and engagement, ideally with Adult learners.

You will have good management skills with the ability to build a diverse team to achieve shared objectives, with experience of managing and delivering cultural and change.
Qualification certificates should be brought to interview.

The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
