A fixed term opportunity has arisen for a Principal Finance Officer in the Financial Planning team at Redbridge.

You will work closely with the Financial Strategy Manager and have regular contact with the wider finance team as well as interaction with more senior officers. This fast-moving role focuses on supporting the budget setting and budget monitoring processes and the production of the related reports. It also provides a control and reconciliation function in relation to the budget and completes a number of government returns such as RO and RA. The post manages one Senior Finance Officer but may on occasion have responsibility of supervising other staff.

A CCAB qualified accountant, you will need to have a sound understanding of local government finance and strong technical skills. You should also be a confident communicator who is able to foster great working relationships with those you work with and you'll relish having responsibility for a wide remit, delivering a range of finance services to a stand-alone local authority. A flexible approach and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
