Job Details

The purpose of the Business Support service is to support and enable services to deliver for the citizens of Camden in an efficient and effective way.  To help us deliver this, we require skilled minute takers to join our recently created Safeguarding and Statutory Minute Taking function.

We’re specifically looking for staff with safeguarding minute taking experience to support children's and adult safeguarding panels and other statutory meetings.

The service aims to provide a professional, proactive, flexible and customer focussed minute taking service to the organisation. We work with services to understand their strategic objectives and legal obligations by providing support to safeguarding, statutory and high-profile council wide meetings. We often need to adapt and re-prioritise work to meet the changing priorities of the services that we support.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have experience of accurately taking detailed minutes of complex statutory meetings including child protection, adult safeguarding, legal planning, member portfolio and other statutory and strategic meetings.

You’ll have experience of undertaking minutes of an often complex and highly sensitive nature, ensuring that data is handled confidentially. The ideal candidate will need experience of or a willingness to document outline minutes or relevant actions live on screen during some conferences for service users and professionals to view in real time.

You will have the ability to develop good working relationships and demonstrate effective communication skills as you will be liaising with professionals across the council and borough. You will be expected to show high levels of professionalism and be approachable, courteous, and helpful in the delivery of support.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working closely with colleagues to identify areas for improvement.  You will be expected to embrace new technology to ensure that work is undertaken in the most effective and efficient way.

You should be able to demonstrate that you have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), as well as database management.

The post is generally office based but you will be expected to work at other sites and to provide cover for similar roles. There will be some need to minute meetings in other Camden locations and occasionally in the service users’ home environment.

Please refer to the job profile and job capsule supplementary information for full details of the role.

This role requires an enhanced DBS.
