From our county town of Taunton with its Garden Town status, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on Exmoor, with Minehead and our coastal communities along our northern coastline and Europe’s largest construction project at Hinkley Point. Now, we are looking for a new Director to take us to the next level of entrepreneurialism, ambition and commercialism, working with recently appointed CEO, to make up the senior leadership team. This is a highly visible leadership position where your drive and determination will have a huge impact on our staff, our customers and our stakeholders.

You will provide resilient leadership for our organisation’s ‘engine room’, leading on the continuous transformation of services, taking a solution focused approach, with an emphasis on the customer. You will further develop our customer interactions and provide a more joined up approach to service delivery. All of this will be realised by using varied and creative approaches to developing and using policy, intelligence and insight to influence and inform.

If you have a proven track record of ensuring customers are at the forefront of strategic planning and operational delivery; where customer insight is effective in driving continuous improvement and efficiency, then we would like to hear from you.  You should evidence leading business change to achieve positive financial outcomes, embedding a commercial yet client focussed approach to all business processes and have worked at senior management level within a political environment.  Experience of successful change management and transformation within a large organisation is essential, as is an understanding of the workings of local government.
