The Council, its staff and partners, were delighted in August 2018 when Ofsted judged the overall effectiveness of Children’s Social Care services to be ‘outstanding’. Building successful and sustainable services for families is a priority for the Council and its partners. We are making good progress and we want to sustain the strength of our leadership team to accelerate the growth and development of our practitioners.

Joining a strong leadership team, your effective and consistent leadership will influence how we organise and deliver our vision of improving outcomes for our children and ensuring that our children remain safely cared for within their families.

You will manage 3 Service Managers who oversee our MASH, Referral & Assessment and Family Support & Child Protection teams. It’s a chance to build on existing good practice, but we’ll also want you to ask questions and challenge how things are done. The Council has made a significant investment in Children’s Services and that comes with high expectations. As a qualified social worker, you’ll bring a distinct focus on high quality professional practice and an emphasis on effective performance management.
