Job Details
We are looking for someone to support our customer and business support team based at the Parks Depot in Waterhouse Lane, Chelmsford. This small team support the Council in the delivery of services relating to our parks, grounds maintenance, sports pitch hires, allotment services, land adoptions, and assist with administration relating to external event hires in our parks and open spaces.
You will support the team by undertaking administrative duties and will take and respond to phone calls and emails from our customers. These could be in relation to requests to book our sports facilities, add details to our allotment database or respond to queries about grounds maintenance or an event hire.
During your time with the team, you will be supported to complete a customer service practitioner level 2 apprenticeship.
As part of your apprenticeship, you will get the opportunity to discover not only what else happens within the Parks and Green Spaces Service, but also the activities that take place across the Council; many of the services interact with each other during the normal working week and you will gain an insight to other services, which may be of interest.
Staff can apply to undertake additional work for Council run events such as the 3ft festival and fling or the Christmas Light switch on and elections. Full training is given for this work.
