Job Details
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our friendly Local Land Charges team providing information for people buying property and land. Working within a very focused small service you will supply up to date property search data to enable buyers to make informed decisions about their purchase. Accuracy and speed are the most important elements of our service. An understanding of the house sale process would be useful but is not essential.
You will be assisting in updating and maintaining the Local Land Charges Register in accordance with statutory requirements, updating and cleansing Planning and Building Control Registers, and processing official searches using a number of different specialist computer systems.
Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word gained in an administrative environment is essential. Previous experience of working in a Local Land Charges environment as well as experience of local government systems, such as GIS, TLC, UNI-form and Civica, is highly desirable.
You will have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to analyse and understand detailed information. You must be able to read and interpret maps or plans to a pinpoint level of accuracy, work to strict timescales and show a high attention to detail. Knowledge of planning and building control would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.
