Job Details
Chelmsford is looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join our Housing Standards Team to cover maternity leave on a part-time basis for 12 months. The team thrives on the shared challenges that this area of work brings and enjoys an interesting and varied case-load. As a valued member of the team, you will have the opportunity to deal with the complete range of regulatory work including empty homes and HMOs with the full support of the lead officer and your colleagues. If you are a motivated and experienced Environmental Health Officer we’d love to hear from you.
This role demands a sound knowledge of housing legislation, guidance and HHSRS. Experience in housing grants and loans would also be an advantage. It goes without saying that we always aim to provide the highest standards of customer service and the successful candidate will need to have the full range of communication and organisational skills to step into this role.
The post is for three days (22.5 hours) per week, and a full driving licence is required.
Chelmsford City Council is committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and expects all employees to share this commitment and have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working practices across our services.
