Do you want to join a brand-new team tackling some of the biggest problems the public sector is facing?

Are you looking for a new challenge where you can demonstrate your project and programme support skills?

The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames have the role for you.  We’re seeking an ambitious Programme Support Officer to join our Transformation Hub. You’ll join an emerging team, that will drive change across the borough. Setting out on an exciting journey, you’ll have the chance to shape your role and really make your mark.

The Role

As Programme Support Officer, you’ll play a vital role providing professional support to the PMO, rest of the Hub, wider service areas and corporate boards to ensure projects and programmes deliver the intended outcomes on time and to budget.  You’ll support the project lead and provide vital, high quality support to the Enterprise PMO Manager and the Head of Service.

A key part of your role will involve developing, maintaining and challenging our programme plan. As a member of our Transformation Hub you’ll be working on and shaping some of our biggest, most important and strategic projects. We’re looking for people that want to dive into their work and quickly make an impact on our organisation.

Above all, you’ll need to be an extremely driven and organised self-starter who thrives on achieving change. We’re looking to build sector leaders, people who really want to transform the way we do things.

We’re excited to be building a new team and will be investing in your development with a purposely commissioned team development programme designed to support you to rapidly and collectively move to high performance.

We’ll focus on building your individual skills, as well as the way you work as a group. This will include a range of workshops, 1-2-1 coaching and mentoring, team activities as well as utilising psychometric and dynamic learning tools. Our programme focuses on accelerated development, shaping our Corporate Transformation Hub to create a team ready to deliver and provide the support and challenge the organisation needs to succeed.

As well as supporting your growth and training, we operate a fully flexible policy with work from home options and flexible hours to help give you a healthy work life balance.

About Us

At Kingston, we’re not just looking for people who try to do things differently, but those who are willing to try different things. To tackle the biggest obstacles in local government, we need people who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo.

We want to move away from a focus on traditional savings and cuts, to explore new approaches and innovation, that support us to deliver better outcomes for our residents & communities and build a truly sustainable council.

Joining our Transformation Hub offers you the chance to take the next step up in your career. If you’re looking for a challenging role where your work will have public visibility and impact, we want to hear from you.
