An exciting full time, permanent opportunity has arisen for a Practice Supervisor to join the award winning Multi Agency Screening Team (MAST) based at County Hall Northallerton.

Our highly regarded Children's Service continues to receive national recognition for its innovative approach and ability to radically improve the life chances of vulnerable young people. 

MAST is crucial in consistently screening all contacts to North Yorkshire's Children's Families Service using Signs of Safety model (Turnell and Edwards 1999) a strength based solution focused approach, ensuring the right service is allocated to families at the right time. MAST is vital in reviewing, analysing and decision making in situations including domestic violence and Child Exploitation all screened within Daily Meetings.

MAST is a multiagency team, consisting of social work managers, social workers, prevention managers, business support, North Yorkshire Police and HDFT safeguarding nurse.  

As a practice supervisor you will ensure the safe and effective delivery of services to Children and Families in accordance with Children and Families' Policies and Procedures.

You will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of social work practice through leading the team and improving practice. Practice supervisors lead and engage the team through group supervision, appreciate enquiry and one to one supervision.

The practice supervisors role is vital in leading contributing to the screening and daily meetings, regular communicating with internal colleagues, multiagency partners and families.

The successful applicants will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, decision making, analytical skills, coaching, and be confident using IT systems. The majority of the work is office based, however there are regular opportunities ensure CPD is updated. We are supported with modern technology and accessibility to enable flexibility and agility centred on the needs of our customers and the achievement of visible leadership.
