IT has a successful history with the council of apprenticeships with many of our previous apprentices either finding employment within the council or in external IT environments. We have a well-developed support structure to ensure the best possible chance of your successful attainment of qualifications and the development of behaviours and expectations in a local government environment.

We have flexible working hours and have a large variety of opportunities to work across the organisation in technical, digital, business and creative disciplines.

You will work as an IT Apprentice and will be required to complete an 18 month training programme that will cover all aspects of the role and will be delivered through attendance and blended learning delivered by a registered training provider. Through your Apprenticeship you will gain a Level 3 technician qualification covering elements such as networking, operating systems, cloud services, coding, security, business processes and IT support. You will be exposed to situations that will give you chance to expand on your customer service skills and boost your confidence.
