Empowering People, Innovation and Collaboration
Wiltshire is a thriving county that enables and positively encourages healthy living in inclusive and prosperous communities. We are proud of our heritage and for having a strong community spirit, with decision making placed in the heart of the community. Over the last decade the council, with its public, private and voluntary sector partners, has improved people’s lives and helped businesses to develop and relocate into Wiltshire. We have ambitious plans to grow the local economy in a sustainable way and are forward thinking in our approach, rapidly evolving, always ready to embrace new ideas and encourage our people to be innovative and collaborative to achieve our ambitions.
To assist in realising our ambitions, we’re looking for a dynamic Director of Finance and Procurement to join us. In this highly influential role you will be the Section 151 Officer reporting to the top tier of the Council. You will provide strategic policy direction and leadership, operational management and financial control and will support the corporate leadership team and cabinet members, making sure opportunities and risks are fully considered, to achieve our strategic priorities and goals. This will position and empower you to make your mark in helping to ensure the council is fit for purpose as we move forward.
With extensive senior leadership experience in a large and complex organisation you will be a qualified accountant with expertise in local government finance, and you will take the lead when it comes to delivering priorities and driving us forward. Leading by example, you will inspire others to raise their game and contribute to service improvements across the organisation and develop an exemplar finance function. Evidence of strong relationship building and effective partnership with a range of stakeholders is essential.
This is a superb opportunity to be at the heart of one of the most exciting and forward-thinking councils in the country. If you have the vision, enthusiasm and expertise required, please click on the apply button below.
